Welcome to Burkenridge Farms and Big Sky Simmentals. We'd like to take this opportunity to introduce the family. Marguerite & myself, Mathew got married in 1979 and raised four children on the family farm (Burkenridge Farms). Jeff,an independant trucker is our eldest followed by Amy, Brad & Connor. Our farm and cattle business has been a family venture from day one. We started with 640 acres and have grown to 2800 acres of pasture, grain and alfalfa.

Big Sky Simmental got started in 1989 when we purchased our first purebred heifer from the Pembina Triangle Simmental Association Sale. Today we manage 100 purebred reds, black and full fleckvieh cows and 160 commercial cows. The main herd is stationed in Treherne, MB. and the show cattle at Rivers, MB. We market our purebred cattle through the Harvest Hoedown Sale, held annually in Neepawa, Manitoba. The bulls and commercial heifers we sell directly off the yard. Amy and husband, Trevor manage the yard at Rivers and Brad, Connor, Marguerite and myself manage the yard at Treherne.

We have spent the last 18 years purchasing, flushing, transplanting and AI'ing to put together the highest qualtiy herd we can and would like the opportunity to take you on a tour through them anytime.
